AgMachineryMate attended the Merredin Farms Dispersal Sale in Western Australia on February 17, 18, 19 to have a look at a large number of lots for Ag Machinery Mate customers and interested bidders.
This is a case study of a John Deere 7700 that was purchased at the sale. We were engaged to look at this tractor after its purchase and this is what we found.
- Bent main belt pully and tensioner.
- Leaky front and rear axle seals.
- Front Diff Seal leak.
- Transmission Fault.
- Air Conditioner not working.
- Cab Interior poor.
- Various Hydraulic leaks.
- Various electrical Issues.
Clearing sale conditions, we were unable to connect this tractor to JD Service Advisor via Laptop to find exactly what transmission codes it had or any other fault codes.
Engine and Hydraulic Oil Samples were taken and sent to WesTrac in Perth with engine showing signs of wear/lack of services.
Customer would have saved themselves the purchase price, transport cost as well as the repair bill and possible future headaches to get this tractor back into operational shape.
Not to mention the crop/production loss if it were to break down during critical farm operations.
A Pre Sale Inspection unfortunately proved its value.
